        Mr. Weber was born in 1932 in Scott, Saskatchewan.Went to school at Tramping Lake, then went to Saskatoon school, taught for 10 years in Saskatchewan, did University in Alberta. Taught at [River Beach] for 3 years. His mother was born in 1911 in Russia, was a Volga German. Came to Canada in 1912. They came to Russian in 1800s. His father was a farmer. Family was in Saratov area before coming to Halifax. Upon arrival to Saskatchewan they farmed near the Saskatchewan border for several years, but before 1920 they moved to Luseland, Saskatchewan. German community over there, Lutherans, but his family was Roman Catholics. His father spoke a dialect of German but did not speak Russian at home. His parents met in Saskatchewan. His father’s parents were Black Sea Germans. They left Russian about 1903 and came to South Dakota, then moved to Canada. They came to Canada because of the Bolsheviks. Big family – about 10 kids. His father, Phillip, was born in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan, a 99% German farming community, Catholics. His mother had about 6 grades of education, and father had about 5 grades – you did not need 11 grades to farm. His mother spoke predominantly English but they would speak German at home. Almost never left Saskatchewan until their retirements.
