"Колись книжки про Чорнобиль, Голокост, Другу світову здавалися мені важкими. Я читала їх дозовано, відпочиваючи в поезії і дитячій літературі.
Тепер це єдине, що можу читати. Вони дарують надію: події лишилися в минулому, мої предки вижили, а винних хоча б частково покарано.
Натомість зараз ми в епіцентрі подій, майбутнє ще ніколи так не залежало від теперішнього.
Ми ніби йдемо над прірвою по тонких променях надії і молимося, аби вони не згасли.

"Books about Chernobyl, the Holocaust, and World War II once seemed difficult to me. I would read them in moderation, taking breaks with poetry and children’s literature. Now these are the only things I can read. They give hope: events are a thing of the past, my ancestors survived, and the perpetrators were at least partially punished. Half of my emergency suitcase is books. By contrast, we are now at the epicenter of events, the future has never been so dependent on the present. It is as if we are walking over the abyss in the subtle rays of hope and praying that they do not disappear."
