This collection consists of materials collected by Ashley Halko-Addley for her graduate research project, Waxing Away Illness, at the University of Alberta. In 2018, Ashley conducted interviews and observations of the wax ceremony in Saskatchewan and Alberta. This collection consists primarily of transcripts, audio recordings, and fieldnotes, with select supplementary materials.

This file contains fieldnotes from interviews and observations. Fieldnotes were written up immediately following interviews and observations. Fieldnotes were anonymized according to the wishes of the participants.

Crystals

These two small crystals were gifted to Ashley Halko-Addley from Diane Schitka during their interview. Diane uses the crystals in her healing and often send crystals home with people she pours wax for.
