English translation (unedited):
"I have already written that peasants have repeated stories from village to village. About an apple or a pear that saved the house - a classic. About suicides during the occupation. And there is one story that repeats itself from house to house, and I really like it. This is a straightforward story of resilience in its purest form. It sounds like this:
– And the phone?
– So, they took the phones.
– Didn't they return it?
– Who will return it!
– Of course.
– However, I gave them the old phone, and hid the new one, turned it off and always carried it with me."
