"Перші дні війни були для всіх найстрашнішими. Хтось переставав їсти, хтось спати. Але лишались і герої, яких було не збити з курсу жодними планами із завоювання всесвіту. От таку пані і довелося зустріти в останні дні лютого.
Тоді рашисти з усіх сил намагалися прорватися до Києва і гатили з усього підряд, а наші гатили їм у відповідь. Хоча з нашого боку окупації, на щастя, не сталося, шумно було ще й як. І от одного разу під вечір мені треба було бігом вискочити перед комендантською годиною.
Біжу, а кругом бах-бах-бах! Аж чую, поміж вибухів такий чіткий ритмічний стук. Повертаю голову, а це старша жіночка, яка явно встигла за життя побачити усяке, вийшла на своє регулярне заняття скандинавською ходою. Іде і так палками гатить об асфальт, що лють її аж чути. І вираз обличчя при цьому такий рішучий, що постав перед нею якогось русо туристо, вона б його тою палкою і пришибла б на місці.
За заспокійливим ефектом ця зустріч вийшла десь на 12 арестовичів із 10. Таких людей не перемогти."

"The first days of the war were the scariest for everyone. Some stopped eating, some stopped sleeping. However, there were still heroes who could not be derailed by any plans of conquering the universe.
It was such a woman that I happened to meet in the last days of February. Then the rashists were trying their best to break into Kyiv and were firing everything available, and our people were firing back. Although fortunately, there was no occupation on our side, it was still really noisy.
And one evening I had to leave before curfew. I'm running and things are exploding all around. Suddenly I hear such a clear rhythmic knock between the explosions. I turn my head, and this older woman, who obviously saw everything in her life, is going on her usual Nordic walking session. She is walking and hitting the sidewalk with her walking sticks so forcefully that you can hear how angry she is. And the expression on her face is so decisive: if a Russian tourist encountered her then, she would have killed him with her walking stick right there.
The calming effect of this meeting was about 12 Arestovich out of 10. Such people cannot be defeated."
