This collection includes analyses on the wax ceremony performed by Ukrainian Canadians as folk medicine as research for her Master's thesis at the University of Alberta.

Oral History Project was implemented by the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies in 1982-1984. During that period of time two researchers -- Lubomyr Luciuk and Zenon Zwarycz -- interviewed more than 135 members of the Ukrainian community all over Canada, both immigrants and those already born in Canada. The interviews were digitized in 2014-2016 producing a database of over 400 sound files. The interviews focus on the Ukrainian organizational life both in the Old Country and Canada, as well as political and/or social activities of the interviewees. They also encompass childhood and formative years of each interviewee, their education, family stories, participation in the Ukrainian War of Independence, WWI, routes of emigration to Canada, patterns of settlement within Canada, relations with a broader Canadian society; WWII, DPs, Ukrainian-Canadian institutions, prominent personalities, as well as the religious and political mosaic inside the Ukrainian community in Canada.

The collection consist of personal documents (birth certificates from Audtro-Hungarian Empire, marriage certificate, military ticket from inter-war Poland), immigration documents (passports with visas, ship cards) and other personal documents of Andrew and Polly Sharak. Both Polish passports have their photographs.

The collection consists of descriptions of Ukrainian wedding customs and wedding songs recorded from Mrs. Olga Savaryn (mother) and Mrs. Olena Prystajecky (grandmother). All songs are transcribed and translated. This collection was a result of a fieldwork project which was part of the assignment for the UKR 422 course at the University of Alberta in the fall term of 1979.

In the summers of 1976-1981 inclusive, Patricia Pelech (Olsen) Carrow taught Ukrainian Folk Weaving at the Banff School of Fine Arts, now the Banff Centre, in their Visual Arts Department as part of its Weaving/Textile Arts program (later called Fibre Arts). She and her mother, Fiona Pelech, did extensive research in developing visual presentations for this course. They prepared over one thousand slides to present to the students as reference material. The sources for the slides are unknown.

Included in the slides are images pertaining to Ukrainian weaving, embroidery, costuming, baking, ceremonial occasions and photographs of the class participants in Banff.

The collection consists of materials related to Chester and Luba Kuc's professional and social life. It includes materials representing dance groups founded or taught by Chester; photographs of Ukrainian costumes and dances; concert programs, music scores of Ukrainian songs, a collection of Ukrainian postcards, and some self-published educational materials of the Ukrainian youth organizations.

The collection consists of materials related to Mychailo Holynsky carrier as opera singer. It includes concert programs, posters, newspaper clippings about the creator, his concert tuxedo and embroidered silky necktie, correspondence, photographs, and recordings of Holynsky singing.

The collection consists of papers accumulated over the years by John Yaremko. It includes twenty-two letters from his nephew Mike Kotyk, ten letters from Mike Zahara, letters and postcards from Makuch, M. Mузика (M. Muzyka), Jackowsky, John Diakun, В. Вернюк (William Werniuk), Mike Lazoruk, and several letters from the government. There are also other documents such as tax payment receipts, meal tickets, the Workers' Benevolent Association of Canada membership card, unemployment relief card, 'notices of distress,' a filed lawsuit, etc. Yaremko's photo was taken around 1920s. His biography was written by Rose Kotyk in 2003.

Collection consists of four family histories researched and self-published by Gloria Rutherford: Yakemchuk family, Cherweniuk family, Bezmutko family, and Pluta family (Gloria's family on her mother's and father's sides). There are multiple newspaper clippings and family photographs enclosed in the books. Many of the photographs are signed at the back identifying people.

The collection consists of liturgical music, including Entrance and Recessional, Hymns in Honour of the Mother of God, Holy Spirit, Holy Eucharist, Various Saints, Tropars, Easter; and music scores and lyrics of Ukrainian folk songs (calendar cycle). It has been organized in three series: Folk music, Religious music, and Plast Song Books (self-published).

The goal of the “Saving Ukrainian Canadians’ Heritage” oral history project was to document stories of Ukrainian pioneers in the Prairie Provinces. The project was led by CYMK, and its digitization and revival are a collaboration between the Kule Folklore Centre and the Ukrainian Museum of Canada-Saskatoon. It consists of hundreds of hours of interviews conducted in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario from 1971-1972. There are also 700 photographs: some historical, and others – from the time of the project.
"Under the federal government sponsored plan for student employment "Opportunities for Youth", the Canadian Ukrainian Youth Association is sponsoring project "S.U.C.H."- Save the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage. This Association, which may be briefly designated as "C.Y.M.K" is a nationally based youth organization founded in 1931. Its prime aim is to foster, promote and develop in the national life of Canada the finest cultural elements and traditions of the Ukrainian people. The national office of CYMK, located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, serves as an information bureau, a programme source, public relations office and an organizer of various workshops, conferences and conventions.
"Project SUCH is research oriented. The main objective is to record and collect information and artifacts of historical and ethnological significance from various Ukrainian communities across eastern and Western Canada. This will be primarily accomplished by recorded interviews with Ukrainian pioneers and through public meetings to turn the attention of local youth and adults to the precious nature of their heritage.
"Specifically, the research will be carried out by talking to pioneer settlers, recording folklore, songs, traditions and pioneer accounts of life in Canada, collecting books, records and accounts of historical interest from the Ukrainian community.
"Fifteen students will be doing field work in Ukrainian communities throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario for the summer months, with an additional student coordinator in Saskatoon overseeing the entire project.
"The necessity for work of this nature has been evident for some time but lack of funds has impeded the realization to a great extent. This project as SUCH will provide and opportunity for our young students to make a valuable contribution to Canadian culture- to study the process of acculturation- preservation and adaptation of one's cultural heritage.
"As a result of this work various groups and agencies will benefit, e.g., universities, provincial tourist bureaus, Dominion and Provincial Archives and Museums, local Ukrainian community organizations and public libraries. It is therefore, sincerely hoped that the communities will welcome these young students and where necessary, provide assistance and support."
